Description

Nothing says Sector 9 Bamboo quite like colorful, island vibes. We wanted to revive some of our Bamboo roots (get it?... ‘cause it’s a weed) and thought someone living the island lifestyle would be ideal for creating this collection. With that in mind, we’ve once again collaborated with waterman and artist Kenny Vidinich, head of OneVibe Creative Studios, which is located on the waters of Maunalua Bay in east Honolulu, O'ahu. Taking inspiration from the local flora, fauna, and more importantly waves, Kenny created some amazingly detailed and colorful illustrations of some epic surf spots. We’re super stoked to bring his island paradise back on full display with a returning classic shape in the Snapper, as well as perennial heavy hitters in the Striker and Maverick.

HOW TO RIDE IT

Sidewinder

If you prefer a longer wheelbase when you skate but crave a tighter turning radius than a longer board is typically capable of then the Sidewinder Series is for you. The unique double pivot design of the Sidewinders turns extremely well and makes a longer board feel like a shorter one. After riding a board with Sidewinders many people never go back to a typical truck set up. Try one for yourself!

Carving

If you like boards that hold their line well in turns, and don't slide out very much, then keep an eye out for this designation. That doesn't mean that they won't slide at all, rather that they are typically set up with lipped wheels that grip better while maintaining speed.

WE'RE BACK!

Sector 9 has recently been reacquired by its Original Founders! The plan is to do exactly what we’ve done in the past but hopefully better. Just like we started in the ‘93, a bunch of friends getting together to make great products and have as much fun as we can in the process. We intend to keep this attitude towards skateboarding as long as possible and pass it on to the next generation. Come join the Revival!
