The Downhill Division took Calgary by storm for the 2012 IGSA World Championships at Winsport. Our band of hooligans didn't pull out the win, but they sure won the party! High-Fives to Daniel Luna, Louis Pilloni, Chance Gaul, Jeff Budro, Matt Kienzle, and thanks to Gabe Gwynne and Jackson Shapiera for the film/edit.
Reigning champ, A.J. Haiby, won a tight finals heat at the IGSA NorAm Finals to claim victory for a second year in a row! A.J. had a perfect run down the Bonelli Park course and blasted into first place on the final straightaway.
Daniel Luna also dominated the Jr. Class. He out kicked everyone off the starting line and held it down all the way to the finish!
"We hit an epic mountain pass yesterday, 60+ mph staightaways into hairpins. Fast pack riding. I normally never wear leathers outside of racing but going that fast next to a group the leather was a nice comfort to have. Tony and Pete had a bit of a crash but got away with minor bruising. We got 7 or 8 runs in before getting busted by the state trooper who was way chill (6 miles long runs so it was plenty)."
Earlier this summer some of the Downhill Division headed back to British Columbia, Canada to make a dent in the Britannia Classic. A lot of guys ended up making dents in themselves, while Jeff "Dudebro" Budro stepped his game up and took a clean 1st place in the Young Masters division... Nice job dude!
"So we just got back down from the mountains after Buffalo Bill, and I have never been so tired from riding all day at an event. There were over 200 riders that all raced and it ran smooth as hell! Micah Green got 6th, Brendan Davidson got 7th, and I got knocked out in the quarter finals... luckily not by a deer. Chance also got 2nd in the Groms/Geezers/Womens divison. Here's some photos from the event and after party."
