SDSU Earth Week 2011 - Recap

The S9 crew and the 9-Ball truck made the journey to San Diego State University for a week of Earth conscious festivities and green love!

Earth Week 2011 started strong at SDSU with the "Sector 9 Skate & Bike brunch."  All students who skated, biked, scootered, roller bladed, or whatever else to school, got free brunch!

S9 helping to spread the message about keeping skateboarding legal on SDSU campus through creative expression...

The Originalites.

Later in the week the S9 crew made it back to SDSU for the Earth Day Business Fair.

More students than we could count rode by on their Sector 9's.  SDSU loves S9.

The expression session ensued.

Happy Earth Day!  Push Don't Pollute!

The Sector 9 downhill crew was at the 2011 Buffalo Bill Downhill when a helicopter crash landed on the course ending the race. Luckily, no one was hurt in this accident.

It may have ended the race but the after-party went on without delay.

Packing up the truck and heading south to Albuquerque, New Mexico for Ditch Slap.

Downhill Division: Driving through the Night

It was a 16 hour haul through the night straight to Boulder, Colorado  to meet up with Colorado locals at Zak Maytum's skate warehouse for a ramp session before heading out to the hills. After a day or riding some of the worlds fastest hills (video to come) it was another early morning and off to the Buffalo Bill Downhill with over 100 riders from across the globe. It took three U-Hauls to get the riders back to the top of the hill after a run. Yes, there was even an electric 'fuel' pump for riders to refuel. 1200 miles under the belt with 1500 more to go. Stay tuned with more updates to come.
